What a great idea for a sock! I am definitely making a pair with gathered cuffs. And I might have to get a new pair of shoes to show them off... hmm.

like the heel, funnily enough Leah Oakley does do a sock with the same ruffle pattern. She teaches sock knitting, in a shop somewhere and left me a message on Ravelry when she was looking at people who had knit her pattern!

Lovely socks! I;ve knitted some in a 4ply shetland type wool and they did wear out faster, but that might be because we only had a few pairs and not dozens, so they had more wear. It is a nice cast on, though I've never tried a 2x2 ribbed tubular, the instructions look daunting!
